Apple variety Aport, high-yielding, with large souvenir fruits


The first mention of the old variety dates back to the 12th century, after 500 years it was spoken of as

Features and characteristics

The apple variety Aport is classified as late-ripening or winter. Fruiting begins late, at 7-8
year of life, but it lasts for over 40 years.
Aport pleases with a bountiful harvest in a year, up to 150 kg of apples can be harvested from one tree.
The apple tree is larger than average in size, the crown forms a sparse, but powerful. Strong
branches extend from the trunk at a steep angle.
Each fruit receives a sufficient amount of light, during the ripening period it acquires a bright
color and becomes very juicy. The apples are delicious, sweet and sour, with a wine aftertaste.
Ripening period - the second half of September. Transportable fruits, shelf life in the cellar
or refrigerator - 4 months.
Disadvantages of the variety

The problems of the variety are:
 Low frost resistance, trees can freeze out even in a temperate climate zone
middle lane. Gardeners argue that wintering problems can be prevented by
grafting Aport on frost-resistant varieties.
 Irregular fruiting, which is fully compensated by the abundance of large fruits in
fruitful years.
 Relative resistance to scab and fruit rot.

Planting and leaving

When planting a tree, you should adhere to the following rules:

at least 20 liters of water;
 to reduce moisture loss, the trunk circle can be covered with a layer of mulch.
Be sure to apply fertilizers:
 Mineral, saltpeter (30 g per 10 l
water) or 100 g of superphosphate in combination with 60 g of potassium per 10 liters of water.
 As a summer dressing: 45 g of nitrophoska and 10 g of sodium humate, dissolved in 10 l
water.
 As foliar - use a urea solution (30 g per 10 l of water).
Slurry and poultry manure solution can be used as organic
root dressings.
Pruning

Aport, like other varieties of apple trees, requires systematic pruning:
 The first is carried out immediately after planting, it stimulates growth and emergence of shoots.

 Then, for 3 years, corrective pruning is carried out to form the crown.
 Regular sanitary pruning is carried out to dilute the crown.
• A mature tree requires anti-aging pruning.
Disease prevention, pest control

The Aport variety is not particularly resistant to scab, therefore it is recommended to produce
preventive spraying of apple trees with a solution of copper sulfate (50g) and urea (300g) per
10 liters of water.
If the scab has already been found, then the tree is processed:
 7% urea solution;
 1% solution of copper sulfate;
• HOM preparation (40 g per 10 liters of water).
It can be sprayed before flowering and during fruit setting.
The moth is a dangerous pest for the apple tree. To combat it, use a solution
chlorophos (20 g per 10 l of water) or karbofos (30 g per 10 l).
When green aphids are damaged, they are treated with a 0.3% solution of entobacterin.
Spraying from pests is performed every 2 weeks, 3 weeks before harvest
processing is canceled.
