Home care for pepper seedlings

There are many varieties of peppers. The most common are red (pods), black (fragrant) and green (pods). Each of them grows in a certain area, which, of course, differs in the peculiarities of caring for pepper seedlings.

Training

If you bought pepper seeds or harvested them from your own harvest, then you should perform some preliminary steps with them. The first of these is: germinate the seeds, they must swell. To do this, use water heated to about 50-60 degrees Celsius (and leave for 5 hours). After the manipulations done, you need to transfer the seeds to a damp cloth or napkin (but it must be moistened if it dries up). This technology allows the seeds to germinate better and to increase the chance of germination. At home, vegetable pepper seeds are sown in February (from my own experience, I can say that this is the most ideal time, since the sprouts have time to harden and ovaries appear, just in time for May). Then the seeds should be planted in small greenhouses (the soil seems to be light), which can be made from polyethylene.

Shine

Pepper is very fond of sunlight, not artificial. He is also very picky about the amount of light, so pay attention to which side your window faces. Of course, the most ideal is the south side.

Watering

If you overuse watering, it can lead to rotting seedlings or black leg disease, which will ruin your crops. But you should not overdry the pepper either. You need to water it as the soil dries out.

Disembarkation

As soon as the planting season approaches, the seedlings need to be hardened a little, so you can reduce the amount of light (cover with some material), lower the temperature. If you have a glazed balcony, then you can put peppers there, especially at night. It is advisable to start planting pepper at your dacha already at the end of May - beginning of June (depending on the region) and already at a permanent place.

Fertilizer

In the spring, add 40 grams of ammonium nitrate to the topsoil. An excellent growth result appears after fertilization with liquid organic fertilizers. But it should be remembered that peppers do not like potassium chloride.

Pests

Often affected by thrips. Even while still at home, there is still a chance of defeat. In such cases, it is worth buying tobacco, insisting on it and sprinkling it. At the moment, this is the most effective way to peel peppers. You need to take 1 kilogram of tobacco, pour 10 liters of water (if there is a small amount of plants, then just reduce the rate). Boil tobacco for 30 minutes in a sealed container. Then insist for about a day, strain, dilute 2-4 times with water and add 8.4 - 0.5% soap.

But you need to be careful with this broth, as it has a high degree of toxicity.

Thus, growing and caring for pepper seedlings at home is not very difficult. The main thing is to follow certain rules that are necessary for successful cultivation. The pepper is unpretentious.
