Drip irrigation system

Generalitа

Irrigation systems are different: underground, above ground, drip. The drip irrigation system lets the water deposited on the ground fall very slowly. It is an irrigation, in which the plant has absolutely no need for water pressure because it is a micro irrigation. Basically the system should optimize water consumption and can also use micro-sprayers that wet the entire soil around the plant. The drip irrigation system is mainly used in agriculture for industrial crops. Drip irrigation does not provide a single irrigation system, but different types to provide irrigation that can better correspond to the needs of the same plant. It is also possible to bury the dripping wings to avoid the presence of pipes on the surface. This last method allows plants to grow anywhere and also works perfectly as if it were an external irrigation system. The elements that make up a drip irrigation are the ducts, the drips and the valves. The pipes are the pipes that are in the ground or in the garden, the water comes out through the drips and the valves are used for opening and closing the system. Drip irrigation is not widely used in gardens, mainly because the external pipes would create an aesthetic problem of a certain proportion. This is why you always prefer to choose an underground irrigation system. The history of this irrigation system dates back to 1860 and originates in Germany thanks to agronomists who experimented with sub irrigation. Only after the Second World War, thanks to the development of the plastic sector, was it a widely used system. The system over the years has spread almost everywhere and this has also allowed us to improve and improve it.

Elements

To create a drip irrigation system it is necessary to have a water source first. If there is no canal nearby, it is preferable to have a well. Through a pipeline the water is directed towards the irrigation system, and by opening and closing the plant the irrigation is carried out. The drips are the elements from which the drops of water that are deposited on the ground next to the plants come out. A dispenser is used to measure the amount of water required. The drip tray is equipped with a filter to prevent clogging. The irrigation of agricultural fields, in reference to some crops, is fundamental and this system allows to solve every problem. Once the system covering the entire ground is created, it will be sufficient to operate the system to have adequate daily irrigation. Water filtering may not be necessary in the condominium gardens, where already filtered water is used. Obviously to know if it is necessary to apply a filter it is fundamental to have some analyzes performed, which will confirm whether or not it is necessary.

Advantages

Water saving is fundamental today and the drip system has this as its first advantage. If the system is properly designed and installed according to the need for the plant to be irrigated, the savings will be substantial. It is important to point out that the drip irrigation system is mainly used to irrigate the fields, and also guarantees an excellent distribution of fertilizers. In many areas of Italy, water is scarce and this is an excellent way to water the fields. Even nurseries often use the same system. The drip irrigation system can be connected to a timer and in this way you will absolutely not have to remember to open and close the irrigation valve. Furthermore, the programming system also allows you to leave for a few days without the risk of losing the harvest.

Do-it-yourself

A drip irrigation system can also be made personally without the need for a gardening company. Of course the system is very simple. It is necessary to have a main tube with sections so that each is projected towards a plant, and at the end a drip. Using a programmer the system can also work automatically. This is a very rapid solution but it certainly requires time and patience. Everything you need to make it can be purchased at gardening stores or DIY stores. Furthermore it is a system that can always be extended by adding other meters of pipe. Water saving is assured, but also excellent irrigation to the same plant is ensured.

All plants found in nature need constant and often daily irrigations to grow. This is a task that can be facilitated only thanks to the use of automatic irrigation systems, which thanks to the presence of solenoid valves, connected to a control unit, automatically manage the irrigation system. Drip systems are part of the family of automatic irrigation systems. These are based on the precise and constant supply of water to the plants and by reducing evapotranspiration, they allow a good saving of water. Water is dispensed thanks to the use of micro-sprays called drippers that wet only a small area of soil, the one in the immediate vicinity of the plant. It is necessary to construct a plant of this type in addition to the drippers also a water source, which can be a well or the tap for drinking water, and pumps of different diameters. Drip plants are used in hedges as in shrub plantations.
