The roses

The rose is a very widespread flower in parks and gardens, thanks to the beauty and majesty of its flowers it is able to embellish and decorate even the most hidden corners. But the rose species are very numerous and not all have the same characteristics, therefore, it is good to know the main prerogatives of the different genres to understand which are the most suitable roses for cultivation in the garden. It is good to say that the common rose best known by all is, in reality, a variety of this boundless world, called as a hybrid of tea, the result of crossings and hybridizations that have made it perfect both for garden cultivation and as cut flower, thanks to the long stem.
But the varieties are manifold and to give a first subdivision it is possible to distinguish between those that re-flourish and those that are not; the latter produce flowers only on the growth of the previous year.

Variety of roses

The large amount of different species of rose can create some doubts about the most suitable cultivation method to obtain prolonged and luxuriant blooms; for this reason, it is good to know which are the most common types of roses present in nature.
There are several groups of roses, such as botanical roses, which are the ones from which all the subsequent hybridizations that have grown spontaneously have come to life. An example of a rose of this type is the wild rose, a type widely used in Italy that is also used for the preparation of herbal products and creams for different uses, given its particular anti-inflammatory and disinfectant properties.
Another type of rose is the floribunda variety, born from the crossing of hybrid tea roses and polyanthe roses to obtain plants with good rusticity and the presence of a prolonged and luxuriant flowering. A very particular and appreciated variety for the particularity of the flowers, which present variegated and particularly fascinating colors, is that of the Impressionist roses, which took their name from the fact that for their production, the breeders were inspired by the paintings of this current pictorial.

Ground covering roses

The ground cover roses they are the subject of a technique that consists in growing
of plants next to each other, at a very close distance, so that they can develop and create a carpet of very dense foliage.
This carpet will have to become so thick that it will prevent other weeds from growing.
The weeds will have no way of growing because the compactness of the carpet will not allow the necessary light to reach them and because the roots of the ground cover, in search of water and nourishment, will eventually have the upper hand.
In order to obtain a ground cover effect, in general, those plants that lend themselves to carpet growth are suitable.
The fundamental reason for the use of ground cover roses it is due to the fact that they significantly reduce the time required for pest control from weeds that grow between one plant and another.

Roses: ground cover roses use

There are numerous places for which the use of ground cover roses is recommended, especially in cities, places where grass or other plants require periodic maintenance that is difficult to perform, the use of ground covering roses becomes a practical solution, this solution combines optimally the need for practicality, furnishing, protection and persistence.
Another problem to consider is the green arrangement of the slopes.
The slopes are generally uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous when it comes to cutting grass. The alternative is to plant soft roses, creating a dense and compact carpet.
To have an effect of variety and movement it is good to plant flowering shrubs and roses. The softening roses can be used practically everywhere and in particular on areas that otherwise would require a lot of time for maintenance: they are ideal for parks, escarpments, highway borders, central reservation and public gardens.
