Bonsai Raft Styles

Bonsai Styles Raft: Raft(Ikada)

The raft style is characterized by the fact that the branches start from a single visible trunk that wants to reproduce a tree uprooted by the wind that, lying on its side, assumes this particular conformation. We mainly use young nursery plants that have few branches on one side. The plant will be placed on a side partially burying the trunk. With scissors it is customary to make horizontal incisions on the cortex in order to stimulate the emission of roots.
The most suitable plants are elms, ficus and zelkove.
